This course is for ketamine assisted therapists and other clinicians who want to offer group ketamine therapy but are not sure how to get started, what is needed, or feel intimidated by the idea of groups. It will go over important upfront decision-making factors and then introduce key guiding principles for successful group work. You will be introduced to a 6-week group protocol and learn how to apply and modify this protocol with confidence for your own practice. We cover screening and assessments, group composition, and the treatment arc including group preparation sessions, ketamine sessions, and integration sessions. Practical elements including logistics and pricing will be discussed. Experience a variety of group building blocks and exercises through interactive segments. Challenging group situations and how to avoid or manage them will be explored together.

The group model and protocol leans on established KAP practices and principles, Yalom’s principles of group work, mindfulness, parts work, humanistic therapy, and the creative use of images, poetry and other modes of expression. You will walk away with a guiding framework and structure that is ready to be used and also leaves room for the integration of different modalities like IFS, ACT, EMDR, and others. You receive a complete starter package including the protocol, supporting documentation like handouts, intake forms, and more.

This training is a clinical training appropriate for mental health professionals currently offering or planning to offer KAP. Foundational training in KAP is recommended.
